Father Love
by Robison Bryan
In the glow of Your love.
I can find my place above,
In Your lap, in Your throne,
I sing "Daddy, I am home"
You kiss my eyes
While hugging me
You cherish me
So tenderly
Father Love...
("little one!")
Father Love...
I'm undone! ("I'm undone!")
In the warmth of Your arms
I am safe above all harm
In Your smile I can see
That You still approve of me
I am so small
And You're so tall
So pick me up
And fill my cup
Father Love...
("little one!")
Father Love...
I'm undone! ("I'm undone!")
You are more, so much more
Than my mind will ever know
I don't know all You do
Yet I get to come to You
You're holding me
So lovingly
How can this be
Eternity!
Father Love...
("little one!")
Father Love...
I'm undone! ("I'm undone!")
This piece is like an impressionistic tone poem.
It starts out with the human worshiping the Heavenly Father.
Then when the strings and other instruments wind their way
along with the human's prayer all the way up to the
face of God, and as the Angels are fearfully and
wonderfully singing "Holy, Holy, Holy",
He more than condescends:
He actually plants an audio kiss,
by whispering with a thunderous voice
of the sound of many waters:
"Little One".
Then He joins you in singing "I'm undone!"
And the Angels explain this incomprehensible
grace by singing "God is Love!".
In fact, the Lord sustains His own singing
of "I'm undone" longer than the human
has the breath to sing, because
His love is supreme.
